 So far, so good. I successfully downloaded the application and am working on several thousand rows of data. Not sure if my efforts will be successful, but so far I am pleased with the software.
 It has a free mode. One can use the professional options for a time. It is a very good binary editor. I was searching for a way to extract text from *_DD files of damaged floppies, and for that Neo is not easy enough.
Use Free Hex Editor Neo to modify huge files I had to change 1 byte in a 3.5GB file. Looks as an easy task but it is not if you do not have the right tool. I "googled" to find a suitable editod but none of them, incl. my favorite 'Hex Workshop' could do this task (OK, my Hex Workshop is old).But when I found Free Hex Editor Neo and tried it I was very pleased to see that it could do it!I think Free Hex Editor Neo is a very nice tool indeed, I have printed the list of features comparing it to the other versions of ...
 Developer Nice product by lack advanced data manipulation features. Bit shift on a range would be a nice feature etc.The price for version with the features I need is way too expensive. In addition it doesnt even have all I want.Much better than competing product thou!

 Awsome tool. Only problem is in the software it benn given as binary mode. This could simply given as hex mode, actually I'm saying this because I wasted some time on finding the hex mode. This may seem silly but it could happen to some other guy also. Then please include a free version. Then one more thing and it is enable the comparison of 3 or more files and provide option for saving the matched hex values especially in hex mode. This can help people who is working on tryin to get byte patterns of malwares. Thank you.
compare of large binary files Nice, realy nice pice of software! For me great feature was possibility to compare two 600MB binary files, it was something that I couldn't do with couple other tools. I think my company will buy commercial version. One thing would be useful - I didn't find it - ,,go to line'' feature.
Looking for something I cannot find Thanks for the testing time. THe product itself works fine. Unfortunately at this time, this is not what we are looking for exactly. We are looking for something that visually compares word documents, excel spreadsheets and the such (binary files) visually and word for word from two revisions of a document being held in source control. Not likely that this exists but wanted to try what we can find. For now we will continue to use the track changes feature in Office.

It did not work for files recovered from damaged floppies. Word Extractor was able to extract words but not numbers; in this case most were data values numbers with some binary trash among them from the bad sectors of the floppy.

 I have twice attempted to use this program to extract text. First, as a test, I tied to extract text from an uncorrupted Thunderbird Mailbox file. Only the first mailing was extracted, the remainder were not seen.  Works. Potentially very useful. But my equivalent app running on RISC OS is easier to use mainly because the stupid Windows-style file selector is so awkward. The fact that AptDiff opens to full screen is very annoying. What I want is to drag the files to the file selector but you can't.
AptDiff 1.5 does an excellent job showing differences between binary files. It is exactly what I was looking for.
 AptDiff works to compare binary executables I needed an application to do binary compares between compiled executables. The task was to prove that the binary file produced using the same code on different machines at different times was the same.AptDiff performed that task well. There was a timestamp built into the executables I tested which AptDiff found an highlighted. That was exactly what I was looking for.
